Acts 19
8 Paul entered the synagogue and spoke boldly there for three months, arguing persuasively about the kingdom of God.
9 But some of them became obstinate; they refused to believe and publicly maligned the Way. So Paul left them. He took the disciples with him and had discussions daily in the lecture hall of Tyrannus.
10 This went on for two years, so that all the Jews and Greeks who lived in the province of Asia heard the word of the Lord.
Sharing:
Paul’s experience at Ephesus gives us a good example of how to spread the Gospel. He spoke boldly, argued persuasively, left the obstinate and built up his disciples. In the end, all the Jews and Greeks in the province of Asia heard the word of the Lord. That is God’s work through Paul’s participation. What a beautiful picture…

Acts 18:9-10 One night the Lord spoke to Paul in a vision: “Do not be afraid; keep on speaking, do not be silent. 10 For I am with you, and no one is going to attack and harm you, because I have many people in this city.

(The LORD is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love.)
9 When they came to the other side, Elijah said to Elisha, “Tell me what I can do for you before I am taken away.” And Elisha replied, “Please let me inherit a double share of your spirit and become your successor.”
46 Then Paul and Barnabas spoke out boldly and declared, “It was necessary that we first preach the word of God to you Jews. But since you have rejected it and judged yourselves unworthy of eternal life, we will offer it to the Gentiles.
Psalm 137
19 Anyone who loves to quarrel loves sin;
20 The crooked heart will not prosper;
21 It is painful to be the parent of a fool;
there is no joy for the father of a rebel.
Ac 12:7 Suddenly an angel of the Lord appeared and a light shone in the cell. He struck Peter on the side and woke him up. "Quick, get up!" he said, and the chains fell off Peter's wrists.
Ac 12:8 Then the angel said to him, "Put on your clothes and sandals." And Peter did so. "Wrap your cloak around you and follow me," the angel told him.
Ac 12:9 Peter followed him out of the prison, but he had no idea that what the angel was doing was really happening; he thought he was seeing a vision.
Sharing: If I were imprisoned and all of a sudden I found that I had an opportunity to escape from the jail cell, I would hurriedly run and leave all things behind. But Peter followed the angel’s instruction; he put on his clothes and sandals, and wrapped his cloak around him and followed the angel’s foot steps without fearing to get caught. God wants us to have faith in Him in moment of emergency and handle things step-by-step without rush to get ahead of God, knowing that He will take care of us
Background:
Ac 10:1 At Caesarea there was a man named Cornelius, a centurion in what was known as the Italian Regiment.
Ac 10:2 He and all his family were devout and God-fearing; he gave generously to those in need and prayed to God regularly.
This centurion did not know Jesus but he had a heart to seek and worship God. In His marvelous wisdom, God prepared Peter to be an evangelist to explain the Gospel to the household of the centurion. But first, Peter’s heart had to be ready. Here is Peter’s own account on how God transformed his heart:
Today’s Scripture:
Ac 11:5 "I was in the city of Joppa praying, and in a trance I saw a vision. I saw something like a large sheet being let down from heaven by its four corners, and it came down to where I was.
Ac 11:6 I looked into it and saw four-footed animals of the earth, wild beasts, reptiles, and birds of the air.
Ac 11:7 Then I heard a voice telling me, `Get up, Peter. Kill and eat.
Ac 11:8 "'I replied, `Surely not, Lord! Nothing impure or unclean has ever entered my mouth.
Ac 11:9 "'The voice spoke from heaven a second time, `Do not call anything impure that God has made clean.
Ac 11:10 'This happened three times, and then it was all pulled up to heaven again.”
After seeing this vision, Peter was set free from his cultural baggage. He obeyed God and went to see the centurion whose whole family had become Christians upon listening to Peter’s sermon.
Sharing: In any successful evangelism, there are two aspects of the encounter. First, the seeker must have the longing for the Truth. The Bible promises that those who seek will find and those who knock then the door will be opened for him. Second, the evangelist must have the willingness to be taught. Peter was willing to put away his tradition to accept Jesus’ instructions, even though those instructions did not conform to his reasoning and ethnic custom

56 “Praise the Lord who has given rest to his people Israel, just as he promised. Not one word has failed of all the wonderful promises he gave through his servant Moses.57 May the Lord our God be with us as he was with our ancestors; may he never leave us or abandon us. 58 May he give us the desire to do his will in everything and to obey all the commands, decrees, and regulations that he gave our ancestors. 59And may these words that I have prayed in the presence of the Lord be before him constantly, day and night, so that the Lord our God may give justice to me and to his people Israel, according to each day’s needs. 60 Then people all over the earth will know that the Lord alone is God and there is no other. 61 And may you be completely faithful to the Lord our God. May you always obey his decrees and commands, just as you are doing today.”
62 Then the king and all Israel with him offered sacrifices to the Lord.
Sharing: It is inspiring to read 1 King 8 about how King Solomon prayed to God. In spite of human's sinful nature, and subsequent separation from God time and time again, new King Solomon first praised the Lord of keeping His promises of not failing even once. he prayed day and night that God would not leave or abandon them (forgiveness every time) and asked God to give them the desire (from His Words and Holy Spirit) to do His will and to obey all His commands, so God would always give justice (blessings and punishments) to him and to his people. It is only until then that people all over the earth will know that our one and only God always glorifies Himself through His people who draw strength on Him despite of ALL of our weaknesses and sins. In conclusion, we must be totally faithful to the Lord our God, and always obey His decrees and commands from the Bible, and if ever we fail and fall, we must repent and turn towards God, otherwise our separation from God will lead us to fearsome consequences. Let's pray for each other like Solomon did, and help each other if any one of us has failed or fell. Don't lead God, but let God leads us. Don't be fearless, but be most fearful to God's separation from us. Please always leads us to You.

Pr 16:25 There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death.
While the rebellious humanity clinches their fists to protect the exclusivity of God’s One Way, they invent their own way. But the most horrible thing is that this human way “seems right” to the unregenerate men but leads men to incalculable tragedy. The outcome of blind-lead-blind is predictable. It is even a laughable irony if the phrase “a way” here means “ONE way”.
Having commented on this, I can’t help but to refer to yesterday’s verse:
Ac 4:12 Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.
When reading Acts 4:12, it brings to mind another parallel verse:
Jn 14:6 Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
Peoples of other worldviews protest these two verses by saying: “It is offensive to claim Jesus is the only way to God.”
Few points can be made to defend the biblical position and point out the falsity of such counter perspective.
Point #1:
Let us first look at this simple conversation:
Pluralist, in effect, says, “If you don’t agree on my claim that “You and I are both right” then you are wrong.”
Can you see now? Pluralism is just a convoluted form of exclusivity. It excludes the Exclusivist.
Point#2:
What is implicit in John 3:16 is the exclusivity of Jesus’ truth. But do we notice that Jesus showed all of us the inclusiveness of His love for the whole world?
Point#3:
In Christianized nations, one can openly criticize Christianity. But in nations of other religions, one may put yourself and your family in great jeopardy if you criticize their state-religions. Who show more tolerance?
Point#4:
Truth has to be exclusive. Making this Truth Claim is equivalent to the affirmation of the basic law of logic: The Law of non-contradiction.
This law cannot be denied. The moment you deny it, you immediately affirm it. There is no way to get around this.
Point#5:
Claiming exclusivity is one thing, whether your Truth Claim holds water is yet another. The validity of the biblical claims (Acts 4:12 and John 14:6) is sustained by the uniqueness of Christ, the uniqueness of the Bible, the existential coherency, and the historical reliability of the Scripture.
Point#6:
Considering the gross depravity of humanity, we should not complain why there isn’t more than one way through them we can go to God. Rather, we should be thankful that God, in light of our lostness, still preserve one way for us to go to Him. To criticize this “one-way” injunction is an act of ingratitude which further confirms our sinfulness and rebellions.

Act 3
1 One day Peter and John were going up to the temple at the time of prayer—at three in the afternoon. 2 Now a man crippled from birth was being carried to the temple gate called Beautiful, where he was put every day to beg from those going into the temple courts. 3 When he saw Peter and John about to enter, he asked them for money. 4 Peter looked straight at him, as did John. Then Peter said, “Look at us!” 5 So the man gave them his attention, expecting to get something from them.
6 Then Peter said, “Silver or gold I do not have, but what I have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.” 7 Taking him by the right hand, he helped him up, and instantly the man’s feet and ankles became strong. 8 He jumped to his feet and began to walk. Then he went with them into the temple courts, walking and jumping, and praising God.
Sharing:

Money is what he think would help but all he needed is to have Jesus
Peter and John don't have any silver or gold but all they ever needed is Jesus Christ

Psalm 121
1 I lift up my eyes to the mountains— where does my help come from?
2 My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth.
Sharing:
This is a psalm of ascending. The psalmist starts from “lift up” his eyes to the LORD, who is the maker of heaven and earth, to seek help. Oftentimes, our eyes did not lift up high enough to see how great our God is – what we see is the worldly problem and it is so big that we forget that He is there and He is the LORD. Let’s be reminded that we are His children and, He cares us and He is full of grace.

22 Jesus answered, “If I want him to remain alive until I return, what is that to you? You must follow me.”

John 20
8 Finally the other disciple, who had reached the tomb first, also went inside. He saw and believed. 9 (They still did not understand from Scripture that Jesus had to rise from the dead.)
15 He asked her, “Woman, why are you crying? Who is it you are looking for?” Thinking he was the gardener, she said, “Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have put him, and I will get him.” 16 Jesus said to her, “Mary.” She turned toward him and cried out in Aramaic, “Rabboni!” (which means “Teacher”).
20 After he said this, he showed them his hands and side. The disciples were overjoyed when they saw the Lord.
29 Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”

Sharing: There are four kinds of faith shown in John 20. First are those who saw and believed, though they still did not understand from the Scripture.(vv. 8-9) Second is the one who couldn't recognize the Lord because of great sorrow inside until hearing the words of the Lord, who then believed and got comforted.(vv. 15-16) Third is the one who experienced and saw the Lord and were overjoyed because of their faith.(v. 20) The last are those who have not seen and yet have believed, whom Jesus called blessed. In our journey of faith, we'll continuously encounter different challenges. All kinds of faith may still give us hope to walk through our journey, nevertheless, blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.

John 21
21 When Peter saw him, he asked, “Lord, what about him?”
22 Jesus answered, “If I want him to remain alive until I return, what is that to you? You must follow me.”
23 Because of this, the rumor spread among the believers that this disciple would not die. But Jesus did not say that he would not die; he only said, “If I want him to remain alive until I return, what is that to you?”

Sometimes God's word is plain and simple but we would like to add our own preference and form our own interpretation.
