25 要 為 風 定 輕 重 , 又 度 量 諸 水 ;

2 Corinthians 1:20 For as many as are the promises of God, in Him they are yes; therefore also through Him is our Amen to the glory of God through us.

Psalm 39 1-5; 7
1 I said, “I will watch my ways and keep my tongue from sin; I will put a muzzle on my mouth as long as the wicked are in my presence.”
2 But when I was silent and still, not even saying anything good, my anguish increased.
3 My heart grew hot within me, and as I meditated, the fire burned; then I spoke with my tongue:
4 “Show me, O LORD, my life’s end and the number of my days; let me know how fleeting is my life.
5 You have made my days a mere handbreadth; the span of my years is as nothing before you. Each man’s life is but a breath.
7 “But now, Lord, what do I look for? My hope is in you.
Sharing:
David wrote this psalm and he tried very hard to keep his mouth shut in the mid of conflict. Even though he can but he could not quiet his heart. Out of his anguish, he only asked God to show how feeble his life was and remind us that our lives are just a breath.
Life is short. Let us turn our eyes to God. Let us not being pull down by the frustration and all the negativity surround us. Let focus on God and give our lives for Him and his kingdom only because just like King David said: "My hope is in you."
There will be light at the end of the tunnel

14 若 基 督 沒 有 復 活 , 我 們 所 傳 的 便 是 枉 然 , 你 們 所 信 的 也 是 枉 然 ;
1 Corinthians 15
14 And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith. 15 More than that, we are then found to be false witnesses about God, for we have testified about God that he raised Christ from the dead. But he did not raise him if in fact the dead are not raised.
Sharing:
Apostle Paul once again reminded us that Christ’s resurrection is the central theme of our belief. Without the resurrection of Christ, our faith is useless and we would bear false witness about God. What a powerful reminder

Job 2:3 Then the LORD said to Satan, “Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil. And he still maintains his integrity, though you incited me against him to ruin him without any reason.”
2:9-10 His wife said to him, “Are you still maintaining your integrity? Curse God and die!” He replied, “You are talking like a foolish woman. Shall we accept good from God, and not trouble?” In all this, Job did not sin in what he said.
Sharing: If someone lost all his possessions, it could be a great distress to him. Then what a big trauma it would be if someone lost all his love ones? It is so easy for someone who's in such situation to complain or speak with negative or curse words. Yet, Job did not sin in what he said when Satan incited God against him to ruin him without any reason. What a person who feared God that Job was! May we all learn from Job that we fear God no matter we accept good from God, or in time of trouble. We'll be sure to experience "But the eyes of the LORD are on those who fear him, on those whose hope is in his unfailing love," (Ps.33:18)

Esther 9
20 Mordecai recorded these events and sent letters to the Jews near and far, throughout all the provinces of King Xerxes, 21 calling on them to celebrate an annual festival on these two days.[i] 22 He told them to celebrate these days with feasting and gladness and by giving gifts of food to each other and presents to the poor. This would commemorate a time when the Jews gained relief from their enemies, when their sorrow was turned into gladness and their mourning into joy.
1 Corinthian 13
13 Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love.
4 Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud 5 or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. 6 It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. 7 Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.
1 Corinthian 12
27 All of you together are Christ’s body, and each of you is a part of it. 28 Here are some of the parts God has appointed for the church:
first are apostles,
second are prophets,
third are teachers,
then those who do miracles,
those who have the gift of healing,
those who can help others,
those who have the gift of leadership,
those who speak in unknown languages.
Psalm 37
3 Trust in the Lord and do good.
Then you will live safely in the land and prosper.
4 Take delight in the Lord,
and he will give you your heart’s desires.
5 Commit everything you do to the Lord.
Trust him, and he will help you.
6 He will make your innocence radiate like the dawn,
and the justice of your cause will shine like the noonday sun..
Sharing: This morning, God led me to these passages. I didn't know why at first, but now I know. God's love to the Jewish people was demonstrated in Esther and Mordecai (Esther 9:22-23), and I was so touched today to find out in my old schoolmate's wife funeral that she was saved on July 31,2011. God testifies to me that God's love will last forever (1 Corinthian 13:13). During my drive to NJ, I sang the song from 1 Corinthian 13:4-7 "Love is patience and kind....." all the way there, now I know God is explaining to me what love really means. At night, we met Pastor Huang and Pastor's wife talking about her mother passing to be with the Lord in July this year was another testimony to me that "All of us together are Christ's body, and each of us is a part of it" (1 Corinthian 12:27), and God's love is the most important glue that links us all together from birth to death, and from now to eternality. With such Almighty love, Psalm 37 points out to me that I have to, and I can commit everything I do to the Lord. Trust Him, He will help us, and will make our innocence radiate like the dawn, and the justice of our cause will shine like the noonday sun (Psalm 37:3-6). I praise God and my Lord Jesus Christ for such an eventful and abundant day

1 Corinthians 12
7 But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.
11 But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually just as He wills.
Every one of God's people was given different spiritual gifts according to the Holy Spirit's perfect wisdom for the good of the body. We will disappoint the work of the Holy Spirit if we ignore, neglect, and fail to rely on each other's gifts, in turn the body will suffer. We each must take a proactive role to discover, value and exercise one another's gifts to bring good to the body and bring glory to God

Ps 34:15 The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their cry;
Ps 34:18 The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
Ps 34:19 A righteous man may have many troubles, but the LORD delivers him from them all;
Devotional Sharing:
These three verses (also verses 7 and 8 altogether) carry two important points:
- Even a righteous man encounters troubles (v.19) in his life. Our Lord is a supreme example when we realize that there was a sinless man who died for the sinners and endured afflictions.
- Psalm 34 contains an overarching message: In our times of tribulation, our God will never forsake us but walk closely with us.
Peter Kreeft, the author of Making Sense Out of Suffering, gave the following illustration:
Let’s say Romeo and Juliet have a much deeper and more mature love than in Shakespeare’s play. Let’s say that what Romeo wants most in all the world is Juliet. And let’s say that he has lost all friends and possessions, and he’s bleeding and he thinks Juliet is dead.
Then he sees Juliet rise up and say, ‘Romeo, where are you? I’m not dead; are you?’ Is Romeo completely happy? Yes. Completely happy? Yes. Does he mind at all that he’s bleeding and tattered and poor? Not at all!! He would much rather be in love in the South Bronx then divorced in Honolulu.
Lovers don’t want explanations, but presence. If we really love our Lord Jesus, in the midst of suffering, we won’t ask ‘Why?’ but are satisfied with His presence.
Thought Provoking Sharing:
(Achish king of Gath).
